About Us

Hi, friends. We’re Brandon and Sara Mitchell — the husband-and-wife team behind Brandara Family Farm. Our adventure together started back in 1999, and since then we’ve built businesses, raised two amazing kids, and learned that life’s best moments often happen with a little dirt under your nails.
Originally from Maryland and Pennsylvania, we both grew up surrounded by farm fields and family gardens — places where we learned early that good food and hard work grow hand in hand. When we moved to Martinez, Georgia in 2017, we brought those roots with us.
Like many families, we started growing our own food during the pandemic as a way to reconnect — with nature, with each other, and with our food. Most crops thrived… except lettuce. Lettuce had other plans.
So we pivoted (and maybe muttered a few words under our breath) and discovered something even better: microgreens. Small but mighty, they grew fast, tasted incredible, and sparked a whole new passion.

That little discovery bloomed into Brandara Family Farm, officially launched in 2022. Today, you can find our microgreens at local farmers markets, online, and even on the plates of your favorite local restaurants — fresh, flavorful, and grown with love right here in Martinez.
Because for us, it’s not just about growing greens — it’s about growing community, health, and a better way to eat.
